Governor since 2025

Patrick is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DuluxGroup. Having joined DuluxGroup as a graduate chemist in 1989, Patrick held a succession of technical, commercial and senior leadership roles, before being appointed DuluxGroup CEO in 2007, when DuluxGroup was a division of Orica Limited. Upon the demerger of DuluxGroup from Orica in July 2010, Patrick was appointed Managing Director of ASX-listed DuluxGroup – which performed in the top 10% of ASX companies for total shareholder returns during the period it was listed.

In 2019, DuluxGroup became a standalone partner company of Nippon Paint Group (Asia’s largest paint company and the global number four), and Patrick was appointed to his current role. Since joining Nippon Paint, DuluxGroup has more than doubled in size and now employs 8,000 people, split equally across the Pacific and Europe.   

Patrick is also Chairman of the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, is on the Advisory Council of St Mary’s College at the University of Melbourne and was formerly on the Board of the Australian Government’s Industry Innovation and Science Australia.
