The George Alexander Foundation Scholarship Program commenced at RMIT in 2002.

Eight scholarships are awarded annually, each valued at $16,000 or $24,000 and paid in instalments during the scholar's degree.

The scholarships are open to students commencing the second year of a bachelor degree at RMIT University's Melbourne campus.

All GAF scholarships recognise students who can demonstrate academic merit, community involvement and leadership capability.

The Scholarship Program at RMIT University was one of the first established by the Foundation. George Alexander had been a student and lecturer at RMIT in the 1940s, gaining a qualification in Industrial Management and Executive Training and was awarded the John Storey Award from the Department of Industrial Management. 

Since the program commenced in 2002, over 180 RMIT University students have been awarded scholarships to support their educational goals and fulfil their potential.
